I can handle the Mummy in Orlando (although I usually need a break after) and can tolerate Expedition Everest but usually need a soft ice cream to soothe the stomach after that. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I've long debated whether I can handle Rock'N'Rollercoaster, but think the Gs at the start would kill my stomach. I know they're trying to simulate flight, but the constant back and forth rocking killed me. Second worst was Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

I think the sync is off between the movie and the motion simulator. I too have to consider the motion sickness rating on every ride, and research them all before going on. Things seemed to be spinning around me and anytime I closed my eyes it seemed like there were 3D actions popping out at me. I was experiencing visual disturbances for hours afterwards. This was the last ride I was on in the day so I'm not sure if it was the worst or if my brain just couldn't handle any more. There are a lot of instances when the transformers 'grab' the cart you're on and shake it. It also seemed to have the same actions repeated, many of which were pretty jarring. It seemed like a much longer ride than the others but maybe that's just because I couldn't handle it. I had to keep me eyes closed for last half of it. Rode this one 3 times in a row with no real issues. Indoor roller coaster, has some drops and goes backwards. I think the bigger problem with this one for me was that there is a lot of bouncing and jarring motion This one was not good for me at all, I took a break from riding anything after this one. I felt a bit queasy after this one, but after eating a meal felt much better.

This gave me the first indication that I may not be able to handle 3D rides. The older HP roller coaster on a Quidditch game. The screen is curved and is meant to give you a show as you ride from Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade. This has a slightly bothersome screen if you're sitting close to it. HP train ride from universal to islands of adventure This one spins a few times and has a couple drops. This was my first experience with a 3D rollercoaster. I rode it twice back to back, first thing in the morning. The new HP roller coaster through Gringotts bank. Since I had a bad experience with a few of them I thought I would add my own experiences to this post. I haven't ever had motion sickness issues, so I wasn't prepared for it. Motion Sickness score: 1 (would be 0 if the scale was 0-10) Jurassic Park River Adventure, Popeye and Pluto Barges, Ripsaw Falls - All great water sides. Rip-it Rocket: Unfortunately it was under repair when we went. No loops but pretty fast around the track and sudden turns/stops. Hulk - Great coaster with unexpected speed and twists/loops. Great coaster with quite a few twists/loops. I read this was a motion sickness guarantee and I didn't want to take the chance.ĭragon Challenge Harry Potter - Choice of Blue/Red. MIB: Alien Attack: Moving cart along a track, shoot aliens, cart prone to fast spins but no more than 2-3 spins at a time. Moving seats in theater-style 3D movie simulation - nice 4D effects also. There is an awesome heat bomb effect and lots of backward/forward acceleration and also one huge drop from a big building. Transformers 3D - Very similar conceptually to Spiderman. Generally pretty harmless - felt very slight queasiness on the big drop. Alot of fast acceleration and deceleration and one BIG drop from a tall building. Live action combined with motion simulation.

I didn't lose any food, but felt pretty queasy for about 20 min after the ride. I probably had to keep my eyes shut for about 60% of the motion piece. The size of the screen and motion of the robot arm forced me to close my eyes a few times during the sim time. The motion simulator takes you through a quidditch match and canyons/cliffs on a bench and broomstick. The live action was fine - the seats you are in swings pretty wildly (up, down, left, right, forward, back- but does not spin). It's about 50/50 live action and motion simulation. Harry Potter Ride - This made me the most sick of any ride at Universal. Here are my thoughts on each (having taken 1 dose of less drowsy Dramamine the morning of each day I went): I was looking for info on motion sickness for Universal rides so I thought I'd come back and give feedback. As a backdrop - I am generally able to ride roller coasters with minimal motion sickness but tend to get more sick on motion simulators (which Universal tends have a plethora of). Just returned from 5 days in Orlando at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
